A Few Things You Should Know About Me
· I firmly believe most life problems can be discussed over a really good cup of coffee.
· My desk is a combination of sticky notes, research piles, and organized chaos. Somehow, I know where everything is.
· I’ve spent years pestering relatives for family secrets, digging through dusty records, and convincing people to spit into DNA test tubes.
· I’m fascinated by intuition, precognition, and those strange moments in life that can’t always be explained.
· Photography has always been another form of storytelling for me.
· I’m happiest near the water, whether it’s marshes, coastal towns, or the Gulf at sunset.
· I can lose track of time chasing one small clue that suddenly turns into an entire story.
· Most people don’t know that I’m a certified scuba diver.

A Journey of Courage, Truth, and Family
Connected: Finding My Truth by Diana Hochberg is a powerful, emotional, and inspiring story that touched my heart deeply. What makes this book even more meaningful to me is that I am Diana’s second cousin, and we only recently connected because of the incredible research and determination she put into uncovering her family history.
Throughout her journey to find her birth mother and father, Diana faced countless obstacles, unanswered questions, and emotional challenges. Many people would have given up, but she never did. Her perseverance, courage, and commitment to discovering the truth about her origins are truly remarkable. Because she refused to quit, she not only found answers about her past but also discovered family members she never knew existed including me.
Reading her story gave me an even greater appreciation for the strength it took to continue searching when the path seemed uncertain. Her journey is about more than finding biological relatives; it’s about identity, healing, belonging, and the power of human connection.
As someone whose life was directly touched by her search, I can honestly say that Diana’s story is inspiring in ways that go far beyond the pages of this book. Her determination brought together pieces of a family puzzle that had been missing for decades.
I highly recommend Connected: Finding My Truth to anyone who enjoys stories of resilience, hope, and the unbreakable desire to understand where we come from. Diana’s journey is proof that sometimes the answers we’re searching for are worth every obstacle we face along the way.

If I could have read this book non-stop, disregarding the need for food, sleep, showers and all of life in between- I would have! Diana's story is intriguing, mysterious, informative and touches the heart. She draws you into her detective like search. You feel as if you are right there with her. Taking each step, meeting all those she had encounters with, feeling her fear when she felt she was being followed and received 'killer calls'.
What a massive amount of research and time went into compiling this book. The photos were descriptive and those of her mother-were beautiful! The front cover draws you in as well as the title.
Thanks to Diana for writing this and for inspiring others to find their answers. It's true that every family has a story to tell . - Sylvia Kelly - Pawleys Island, S.C. - Reviewed May 28, 2026 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
